The ASP has a strong commitment to students. Student travel grants (see the meetings page for application procedures) allow students to attend the national ASP meeting to present the results of their research. Student papers are grouped together for presentation and awards are given for the best presentations. At each annual meeting a workshop is organized by and for students to discuss topics such as research, grant-writing, teaching, and job-hunting.

ASP Graduate/Undergraduate Student Grant Program

Updated: 06/06/06

The American Society of Parasitologists has begun a new program that provides small grants to students studying parasitology. At this time, the ASP is able to fund one graduate student ($1000) and one undergraduate student ($500) doing research in the field of parasitology. The competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate level ASP student members affiliated with institutions or major professors who have limited or no grant money to support student research. Both the student and his/her major professor must be members of the ASP at the time of application. (Applications for membership may be found at on the membership page) .
