The 40th Annual Meeting of SWAP was held April 19-21 at the University of Oklahoma Biological Station. President Scott Gardner presided over the annual meeting, which had 59 participants, 27 oral presentations (18 of which were given by student members), and 3 poster presentations. During this year’s meeting, Brent Nickol was, honored for his career in Parasitology. Student award winners at the 2007 meeting were Autumn Smith (David A. Becker Memorial Award), Jodi Schreurs, (Marc H. Dresden Memorial Award), Anne Bolick (Honorable Mention Undergraduate Student), and Terry Haverkost (Honorable Mention Graduate Student). Officers for the next year will be Agustin Jiménez-Ruiz (President), Kirsten Jensen (President Elect), Scott Gardner (Past President), Tamara Cook (ASP Representative), and Jerry Cook (Secretary-Treasurer). SWAP membership includes 52 regular members, 43 student members, and 1 life member for a total of 96 members from 14 states.

The 38th Annual Meeting of SWAP was held April 20-22 at the University of Oklahoma Biological Station. There were 55 participants, 29 oral presentations (20 of which were given by student members), and 5 poster presentations. SWAP’s current membership includes 53 regular members, 42 student members, 1 emeritus member, and 1 life member for a total of 97 members from 15 states.

The 38th Annual Meeting of SWAP was held April 21-23 at the University of Oklahoma Biological Station.
There were 57 registered participants and 28 research presentations, 18 of which participated in the student paper competition.
Kara Gordon of the University of Nebraska at Omaha won the David A. Becker award for the best student presentation.
Kathleen Brazeal of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln won the Marc H. Dresden award, Elizabeth Warburton of Emporia
State University won honorable mention for a graduate student presentation,
and Erica Peterson of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln won honorable mention for a graduate student presentation.
Former SWAP members Lynn Hertel and Al Kocan were eulogized during the business meeting. At the business meeting state of
the SWAP was found to be sound and a lively discussion of ASP meeting jointly with other societies ensued.
SWAP’s current membership includes 60 regular members, 42 student members, 1 emeritus member, and 1 life member for a total of 104 members from 17 states. At the end of the meeting outgoing president Tami Cook turned over the gavel to incoming president Mike Barger.
